The New Zorro TV Series

I finally decided which TV show I was going to write my essay about. I didn't exactly watch a lot of television when I was growing up, so it was kind of hard to decide what I would write about. My two choices were The New Zorro TV Series or The Young Riders, but which played on the Family Channel in the early 90's, and both which involved many horseback scenes. The horses is what originally drew me to the shows, but I really loved to watch both of them.

My next obstacle was if I would be able to find these shows again. And low and behold [play crescendoing chorus] The New Zorro is on YouTube! At least, parts of the show are. Enough I think that I can remember quite a bit about the show. Ah, watching the opening scene, minus the music because my laptop's sound went out sometime ago, Zorro galloping across the desert, fording a river on his trusty Toranodo, the gallant black steed that was always at his side, doing stunts and tricks on horseback . . . ::sigh:: no wonder I tried to emilate those same stunts on my horse years later! It brought me goosebumps of excitement just watching it again. I could practically hear the hoof beats and smell the horse sweat and leather! I love it!

And The Young Riders is also on YouTube! When I was a child, I always wondered where in the US this show took place, and my guess is that some of it took place in Oklahoma. I will have to investigate . . . :D (but not tonight, because I have other assignments to finish). IF that is the case, who knew that I would end up living in this great state years later! Now, if only I still had my trusty steed . . .

Carried Away??

Yesterday was the first official day back in school. I say "official" because I spent a very stressful, exhausting week last week in an intersession class. he he he . . . Anyway, I decided to wait and post to the television viewing habits forum until today, so it would be another one of the "four days of logging in" that is required for the class.
I have blogged about my television viewing habits in the past on my blog "Tegan's Musings", but have not written about it since then. And that was over a year ago. I had no idea that I had so many feelings about not watching TV. After I wrote my post, which was rather long (I tend to ramble, especially about passionate issues, or even semi-passionate ones apparently), I read the other posts that had been posted. They were good. And concise. You know, to the point. Not telling a lifestory like mine did.

Does anyone else have this tendency to go on and on?? I not only do this in forum posts in online classes, but also in papers, even research papers. I can honestly say I have a hard time keeping a paper to the maximum number of pages. In one class, we didn't have a max number of pages, as long as we covered everything we were supposed to. My paper was 17 pages. In another class, I couldn't decide what else to edit out, so I changed the margins to 0.25 instead 1.0. Anyone else out there like that?

Advanced Composition

This blog is for my Advanced Composition Class.

I do love to read and write, among many other academic interests, and this is actually not my first blog. I have a blog about family life that I try to post to faithfully. I have a lot of family and friends all over the world that read it so they can keep up on current events with my family (such as the upcoming birth of my husband and I's little girl). It's a private blog, however, if anyone is interested in reading it, I would be happy to add you, so just email me and let me know. I also have another private blog that only I have access to so I can vent about things that might upset me, I have a blog that I co-author with my husband where we write love letters back and forth to each other (that's a lot of fun! :-) ), I have a blog where I attempted to start writing a story and somehow that never really got launched (although I haven't given up on it yet, the story is still in my head), and I started a blog for the small group in my Bible study where we can post prayer and praises (since we all have blogs).

Anyway, I tend to go on and on in my blog posts, so I can see myself spending a lot of time blogging for class and not doing other assignments . . . lol . . . :)

And for those paying attention, this post is similiar to my post for my eng lit class blog, so in all fairness, I will not be counting this as a "post" for the class, at least grade-wise. It's more of an FYI . . . :)
